The grand finale of the 2025 Commonwealth Championships witnessed a clash of giants in the heavyweight categories, with lifters from Fiji, Samoa, Australia, and India battling for supremacy.

In a historic moment for Indian weightlifting, Tushar Chaudhary delivered a stellar performance, clinching two gold medals – one in the Youth Boys (+94 kg) category and another in the Junior Men (110 kg) category. His power-packed lifts of Snatch: 125 kg and Clean & Jerk: 160 kg (Total: 285 kg) stunned the crowd and brought glory to the tricolor.

The heavyweights produced electrifying battles as Fiji’s Taniela Tuisuva Rainibogi emerged as the champion in the Senior Men’s 110 kg division, lifting a massive 365 kg total. He was closely followed by Samoa’s Jack Opeloge (357 kg) and Australia’s Jackson Roberts-Young (356 kg), making it one of the most fiercely contested finishes of the tournament.

Senior Men – 110 kg Category

Taniela Tuisuva Rainibogi (Fiji) – Snatch: 165 kg | Clean & Jerk: 200 kg | Total: 365 kg

Jack Opeloge (Samoa) – Snatch: 157 kg | Clean & Jerk: 200 kg | Total: 357 kg

Jackson Roberts-Young (Australia) – Snatch: 150 kg | Clean

& Jerk: 206 kg | Total: 356 kg

With the curtains falling on the championship, India celebrates Tushar Chaudhary’s double gold as a symbol of the country’s rising dominance in weightlifting.
