Sunday, 26th March 2023, NOIDA: – It’s a proud moment for us that young Indian Weightlifters shows a good game in the 2023 IWF Youth Men & Women World Weightlifting Championships at Durres, Albania Indian Weightlifting team achieved 3 more medals on the second day of 2023 IWF Youth Men & Women World Weightlifting Championships at Durres, Albania on 26th March 2023, winning 2 Silver in Snatch, 1 Bronze in Clean & Jerk and 2 Bronze medals in total on the opening day of Youth World Weightlifting Championships.

Mr. N. Tomchou Meetei won Bronze Medal in Snatch and Silver medal Clean & Jerk and a Silver Medal in overall with a total of 234 kg and Mr S. Gurunaidu finished 4th with a total of 223 Kg  in the 55 kg weight category  during 2023 IWF Youth World Weightlifting Championships.

Detailed results are as under:-

  1. N. Tomchou Meetei  103 kg + 131 kg = 234 kg (Silver Medal)
  2. S. Gurunaidu  98 kg + 125 kg = 223 kg (4thPosition)

I would like to congratulate all the weightlifters for putting on a good show during 2023 IWF Youth World Weightlifting Championships at Durres and laud the efforts of Indian coaches who have trained the athletes in a short span of time in the National camps.
