Ms. JHILLI Dalabehera won Bronze medal during 2018 IWF Junior World Weightlifting Championships at Tashkent today.
She is the second woman after Saikhom Mirabai Chanu to won any medal during Junior World Championships who did so in 2013.
Jhilli Dalabehera lifted 167 kg (75 kg + 92 kg) in 48 kg to finish third at 2018 IWF Junior World Weightlifting Championships at Tashkent on 7th July 2018.

Pardeep Singh (105 kg) won GOLD medal on the last day to directly qualify for 2018 Commonwealth Games-Gold Coast, Australia with a total lift of 342 kg (147 kg + 195 kg) also overhauling a new National Senior record in Snatch eventst with a lift of 195 kg.
Purnima Pandey in +90 kg Junior Women finished with Silver medal whereas Lovepreet Singh (105 kg) also finished with Gold Medal in Junior section with a lift of 325 kg (150 kg + 175 kg), Gurdeep Singh and Tejpal Singh Sandhu (+105 kg) finished with Bronze Medals in Senior & Junior section respectively.

Gold Coast City, Australia, the 6th September 2017:-
Muthupandi Raja of India won GOLD Medal in 62 kg Youth (Boys) with a total weight of 260 kg (110 kg + 150 kg) and SILVER medal in 62 kg Junior Men with 260 kg. Jimjang Deru was unable to compete in Clean & Jerk event due to injury occurred in the Snatch event where he successfully lifted 110 kg in his second attempt and failed to lift 114 kg in his third attempt and got injured.
The third day of 2017 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships started with a BRONZE Medal in 58 kg Senior Women section by Saraswati Rout for India who lifted a total weight of 179 kg (82 kg + 97 kg) whereas Erra Deexitha won a GOLD Medal in 58 kg Junior Women section with a total weight of 167 kg (73 kg + 94 kg).
Deepak Lather secured 3 Medals for India – GOLD Medals in Youth (Boys) and Junior (Men) section in 69 kg body weight categories and BRONZE Medal in Senior (Men) section in 69 kg body weight category with a total lift of 295 kg (138 kg + 157 kg).

Gold Coast City, Australia, the 5th September 2017:-
Saikhom Mirabai Chanu became first lifter to qualify for 2018 Commonwealth Games – Gold Coast City, Australia by winning GOLD MEDAL in 48 kg weight category during ongoing 2017 Commonwealth Senior (Men & Women) Weightlifting Championships at Gold Coast, Australia on second day of the competition.
She lifted a total weight of 189 kg (85 kg + 104 kg) in 48 kg weight Senior category and finished 1st (first). She broke Commonwealth record in Snatch event with a lift of 85 kg bettering her own by 1 kg which was made by her on 24th April 2016 at Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Khumukcham Sanjita Chanu became second lifter to qualify from INDIA for 2018 Commonwealth Games – Gold Coast City by winning GOLD MEDAL in 53 kg weight category during ongoing 2017 Commonwealth Senior (Men & Women) Weightlifting Championships at Gold Coast, Australia on second day of the competition with a total lift of 195 kg.
Sneha Soren of India won GOLD MEDAL with a total of 138 kg (60 kg + 78 kg) in 48 kg Youth Girls whereas Jhilli Dalabehera also won GOLD MEDAL with a total of 154 kg (67 kg + 87 kg) in 48 kg Junior Women section.
Earlier in the day, 56 kg weight category took place where Gururaja of India finished third (3rd) with a total of 246 kg (107 kg + 139 kg) in Senior section.
Jeremy Lalrinnunga of India won 2 GOLD MEDALS both in Youth and Junior section with a total lift of 240 kg (109 kg + 131 kg).
Zakhuma won SILVER MEDAL in Youth 56 kg weight category with a total lift of 215 kg (95 kg + 120 kg).

Konsam Ormila Devi won Gold Medal for INDIA on the opening day of 2017 Commonwealth Youth (Boys & Girls) Weightlifting Championships being held at Gold Coast, Australia from 4th to 9th September, 2017 with a lift of 133 kg (57 kg + 76 kg) in 44 kg weight category. She registered her best total so far.

Lovepreet Singh ended the competition for India with 3 bronze medals during 24th Women and 31st Men Asian Junior Weightlifting Championships being held at Kathmandu, Nepal from 21st to 29th July, 2017 with a lift of 331 kg (151 kg + 180 kg) in 105 kg Junior Men weight category.
In total Indian team won 12 medals (3 Gold and 9 Bronze) during the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships at Kathmandu, Nepal.

Konsam Ormila Devi won Gold Medal for INDIA on the opening day of 19th Asian Youth (Boys & Girls) and 24th Women and 31st Men Asian Junior Weightlifting Championships being held at Kathmandu, Nepal from 21st to 29th July, 2017 with a lift of 126 kg (56 kg + 70 kg) in 44 kg weight category.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan Wednesday, 1521 hours: Punam Yadav finished 6th in 63 kg weight category and Sagolsem Thasana Chanu finished 7th in 58 kg weight category respectively during 2016 Senior Asian Weightlifting Championships at Tashkent, Uzbekistan and strengthen India’s chances to qualify for 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Earlier power packed performance of Saikhom Mirabai Chanu (48 kg) smashed the National record in Snatch with a lift of 84 kg and equaling the National record in Total with a total lift of 190 kg (present record holder is N. Kunjarani Devi with 190 kg created during 2004 Athens Olympics).

Guwahati, Assam, th 8th February 2016:- Victor Abilash Christopher of India ended the day with another gold medal in the kitty of Indian weightlifting team. Victor Abilash Christopher lifted 317 kg to win gold medal in 105 kg men weight category easily beating his compatriot Shanaka Madusanka Peters of Sri Lanka by 17 kg.
Gold medal tally for Indian weightlifters rose to 11 gold medals (6 in men and 5 women)

Guwahati, Assam, the 6th February 2016:- Sambo Lapung after trailing by 5 kg in snatch event became winner in overall total with lesser body weight than his compatriot Disanayake M.I.C.D. of Sri Lanka with a total lift of 281 kg and secured 5th Gold Medal in weightlifting medal tally on the second day of 12th South Asian Games – Guwahati.
In a close fight contest, Sambo Lapung was trailing by 5 kg after conclusion of Snatch event.
Eventually by his sheer prowess he was able to beat Disanayake M.I.C.D. on lesser body weight as both the lifters finished with 281 kgs in total but lesser body of Sambo Lapung came to his advantage as he has been 200 gms lesser in body weight than his Sri Lankan compatriot who weighed 69.000 kg as compared to Sambo Lapung who weighed 68.800 kgs.

She was followed by Chamari Mendis Wadumesthreege Warnakula Suriya of Sri Lanka (Silver Medal) with a total of 150 kg and Devi Kumari Chaudhary of Nepal (Bronze Medal) with a total of 129 kg.
Guwahati, Assam, 6th February 2016:- Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, Silver Medalist of CWG 2014 opened the medal account for India in weightlifting event during 12th South Asian Games – Guwahati on the opening day of weightlifting event in 48 kg weight category. She lifted a total of 169 kg and created new records in both snatch, clean and jerk and total by lifting 75 kg and 79 kg in snatch, 80 kg in clean and jerk and 169 kg in total.
She was followed by Dinusha Hansani Bomiriyaga Gomas of Sri Lanka – Silver medalist with a lift of 145 kg and Molla Shabira of Bangladesh – Bronze medalist with a lift of 143 kg.

This is the second time consecutively that Mr. Birendra Prasad Baishya has achieved the rare feat of electing as a Executive Board Member in International Weightlifting Federation in a row, earlier serving for the term 2013-2017. Besides this Mr. Birendra Prasad Baishya is also holding several positions in Continental Weightlifting Federation Federations and NOC of India:-
1. Vice President, Commonwealth Weightlifting Federation
2. Executive Member, Asian Weightlifting Federation
3. Vice President, Indian Olympic Association.
Indeed a joyful and moment of delight for Indian Weightlifting Federation and the entire Indian weightlifting fraternity.
This victory will strengthen INDIA in the sport of weightlifting at International level and will guide us through great leadership, wisdom and guidance of Mr. Birendra Prasad Baishya to strive to greater heights and new achievements in future.
