2023 ASIAN YOUTH AND JUNIOR WEIGHTLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIPS AT GAUTAM BUDDHA UNIVERSITY, GREATER NOIDA
9th DAY 05th Aug 2023 (Saturday)
The 9th and the penultimate day of 2023 Asian Youth (Boys & Girls) and Junior (Men & Women) Weightlifting Championships started with men’s 109 Kg and +109 Kg weight Category in Junior Section.
Medals are being awarded for the first three winners in Snatch, Clean & Jerk and Total Weight Category.

The Chief Guest for the closing ceremony of 2023 Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships was Mrs. Sujata Chaturvedi, IAS, Secretary Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. In her address she first congratulated the Indian weightlifting Federation for successfully organising back to back two Weightlifting Championships. She also mentioned that the budget for sports has been on the rise since the last nine years which can be seen on ground as the facilities and infrastructure for athletes has improved manifold.
The president of International Weightlifting Federation Mr Mohammed Jalood mentioned that India is ready for organising the World Championships in the future after successfully organising the Asian Championships.
